EDLD_5305: The Power of Words

I am Change … Dictated with A Sense of Urgency

The video “Power of Words” was short, and in this instance disrupted the Bloom’s Taxonomy status quo learning sequence of events. Cognitive-Affective-Psychomotor became Affective-Psychomotor-Cognitive.

Words are useful in stating/conveying facts. Effectively connecting words to a universal acceptable truth has the power to either convict the heart, stir emotions, create empathy, excite, and or build consensus as per the desired contextual impact sought. The end action at this point tends to follow without much more prompting, because that truth tells us how much more fortunate, we are, or how good we have it, and others do not.

I imagine that my approach to my audience with the video I would create will

  1. Effective appeal and connect to a “universal accepted truth” that the next generation of industry prepped personnel to be, are gamers at heart (Affective)
  2. Transfer a sense of control in interacting with the eXtended Reality (Psychomotor)
  3. Intentionally connect the facts in leading to a guided deterministic outcome (Cognitive)

Deliberately structuring my message along this paradigm will attract “familiar” curiosity about the “new” training, stimulate and feed a growth mindset, and engender thoughts about what the learning environment would be like that differentiates it from others.
